Ghostwire Tool: The Visual Scanner

Visual ScannerWe start a series of articles about the functionality in Ghostwire with one of it’s core features: the augmented reality-powered Visual Scanner.

The Visual Scanner is a camera-based tool to capture paranormal entities. Normally you don’t use the Visual Scanner until the EMF level is really high, high enough for the ghost to materialize. There are plenty of other tools and methods for summon paranormal entities and pump up the EMF.

When using the Visual Scanner, find a position in the middle of the room. Stand still, aim the device straight ahead, and rotate around to scan the area with the camera. To capture the paranormal entity, you need to focus on it. Keep the entity centered in the Visual Scanner’s view, and watch the focus meter (top-left on screen) build up. When you have maximum focus, you can press the red “Lock” button to capture it.

The radar in the bottom-right corner of the screen gives you a rough indication of where the paranormal signal is in the room.

The spectrum dial enables you to switch to Infrared Mode and Thermal Mode. Press the dial with the stylus and slide it around. Some paranormal entities are only visible in certain spectrums.

The Electrostatic Neutralizer button sends a strong electrostatic charge that can slow down ghosts and paranormal currents to make them easier to capture. Aim at the paranormal entity and tap the button to fire it. More information on the Electrostatic Neutralizer will come later.
